Technical Writer

We are seeking a person with the ability to create, modify and maintain technical documentation relating to the software we create.   The successful candidate must be able to develop a thorough understanding and knowledge of complex software products and then reduce those concepts to an understandable written document.  While the successful candidate will not need to be a programmer, he/she will need to be able to understand the concepts of programming in such a way that they can be related to our customer base.  Knowledge of programming tools such as SQL and VB.Net are highly desirable. 

The successful candidate must have the following characteristics:

1. Minimum of four years of accredited college work with a degree in a related field of knowledge.
2. Ability to write clear and concise documents regard technical subjects. 
   
3. Ability to form grammatically correct sentences.
4. Must posses clean, well written prose.
   
5. Ability to work flexible hours.  While not the norm, this job may require occasional night and/or weekend work. 
6. Must be willing to commute to, live near, or relocate to the Nashville, Tennessee area. 
7. Ability to work well under deadlines.  Our software is for high intensity work environments.  Under normal conditions this is a relaxed atmosphere, but occasionally there will be short periods of intense pressure to perform.  The successful candidate must be able to think clearly and quickly during these times. 
8. Occasional travel may be required; however, this will not be a major part of the position.  Typical travel requirements will likely be 3-4 overnight trips annually.
