OEM EXPERIENCE

Since the mid 1990s, Insequence has worked with suppliers for every major automotive OEM in North America.  Our accumulated knowledge of the broadcasts used by each OEM has been critical in our ability to develop an efficient sequencing system.  Listed below are the major automotive OEMs and key features of each Host Module.

BMW
Insequence has installed SPD Pro systems for multiple BMW suppliers ranging from simple pick-pack facilities to companies sequencing highly complex modular subassemblies.

The BMW Host Module includes the following capabilities:

  • Fully supports Websphere MQ sender and receiver channels.
  • Supports multiple assembly line build number processing.
  • Supports complete EDIFACT TOD/SCO and reorder processing module with detailed order management.
  • Sends email notification for invalid TOD records.
  • Provides Internet web page scraper for unattended manual data entry.
  • Provides remote manual call-off entry.
  • Fully supports production call-offs and delivery call-offs.

Chrysler
In 1995, Insequence developed the very first multi-part, multi-platform sequencing system for Chrysler suppliers.  Currently, dozens of Chrysler suppliers use our system to sequence millions of parts each month.  In 2005, we began implementing the new Module Build Host module for sequencing complex modular subassemblies such as doors, suspensions, and instrument panels.

The Chrysler Host Modules include the following capabilities:

PFCS Host Module

    • Processes PFCS broadcast.
    • Processes multiple record types for the delivery sequence (E, G, F8, F3, etc.).
    • Handles “labor only” broadcast records.
    • Displays plant trigger releases.
    • Allows for more than one rack (type) group to be loaded simultaneously, as well as manages the manufacturing queues properly.
    • Processes emergency broadcast files in the event communication is lost.
    • Provides 846 Reconciliation Process.
    Module Build Host Module
    • Processes Module Build broadcast.
    • Supports Websphere MQ sender and receiver channels.
    • Handles recovery broadcasts transparently.
    • Fully supports Bill of Materials.
    • Validates proper BOM was sent and sends alarm if unable to process.
      • Capable of importing BOM from ERP system.
      • Processes multiple record types for each vehicle (SP, SR, EP, etc.).
    • Accurately relays BOM “as built” details including substitutions and revisions through the SR record.
      • Reconciles the EP record to the SR record and report variations.
      • Processes emergency broadcast files in the event communication is lost.
    • Provides 846 Reconciliation Process.

    Ford
Insequence has installed SPD Pro systems for Ford suppliers throughout the US, Mexico, and Canada.

The Ford Host Modules include the following capabilities:

    ILVS EDI 866 Host Module

    • Processes EDI 866 files.
    • Automatically updates rolling 6 day files when changes are made.
    • Handles multiple ship to’s.
    • Fully supports blend numbers.
    • Separates 9000 series vehicles from the normal broadcast items.
    8502 Broadcast Host Module
    • Processes 8502 pulse broadcast.
    • Fully supports rotation numbers.
    • Interfaces with Tech Center’s IP Catcher.
    • Performs the same functionality as the IP Catcher.
      • Allows the 8502 broadcast to be TCP and Serial simultaneously.
      • Compares 2nd to 1st record and reports on changes.
    • Converts alias codes to part numbers.

    General Motors
For over half a decade, SPD Pro has sequenced multiple versions of the GM Flex sequencing broadcast including Serial, TCP/IP, and hybrid.

The SPD Pro GM Host Module includes the following capabilities:

    GM Flex Broadcast Host Module

    • Processes TCP communications.
    • Processes streaming data.
    • Processes multiple record types (SB, EB, LT, TR, PR. etc.).
    • Fully supports finished goods part numbers.
    • Monitors duration from last receive time and alarms if nothing is received after a user definable set amount of time.
    • Provides 846 Reconciliation Process.
    • Provides replacement rack groups.

    GE Pics Host Module

    • Processes TCP communications.
    • Processes components and resolves to a final assembly module.
    • Processes streaming data.
    • Processes multiple record types (SB, EB, LT, TR, PR, etc.)
    • Fully configurable and flexible.
    • Fully supports finished goods part numbers.
    • Monitors duration from last receive time and alarms if nothing is received after a user definable set amount of time.
    • Provides replacement rack groups.

    Harley Davidson
Insequence provides the SPD Pro system for Harley Davidson’s final assembly facilities in Kansas City, MO, and York, PA.

    Hyundai
Insequence provides the SPD Pro system for Hyundai suppliers for sequence processes including tire and wheel assembly, door panels, and exhaust systems.

The Hyundai Host Module includes the following capabilities:

    • Receives sequencing information via TCP connection using Vendor Code and Password.
    • Provides order confirmation to HMMA for each order received to ensure vehicle sequence.
