What is SPD Pro?
Insequence released SPD Pro version 8.0 mid-January of 2017. The software is a suite of modules which provide manufacturing and JIS solutions for sequencing, shipping, manufacturing execution (MES), data management, and inventory. Together, the different modules form a software suite entitled SPD Pro. The suite is highly configurable, due to the modules ability to function together or separately, allowing sites to tailor them to their purpose. A benefit when using the full suite is the ability of the modules to communicate with one another. Allowing multiple locations can receive the data from one process.

For the update to version 8.0, Insequence has incorporated programs and specific customizations created in previous customer requests. Approaching software development this way allows future customers to benefit from additions inspired by those who utilize SPD Pro on a regular basis. The new additions include specific functions, actions, and operations within each application. In the MES application for example. New validations are available with the addition of new DDC’s (dynamic data codes). Also newly remodeled is the Setup Up application’s user interface. The changes to the application allow for easier menu and data navigation. This also makes configuring data within Set Up more intuitive than in previous versions.
As the options within the software increase, so do the OEM’s that can communicate with it. In this version, along with updates to previous host modules, new OEM host modules were added. More configuration options were added to existing host modules. Keeping up with the vast amount of information from OEMs is immense. Users now have more options on how they purge their data within database maintenance.
Overall, this new release of SPD Pro incorporates multiple customization’s relevant to the base software while at the same time preparing it for future iterations.
